Strangeways: 1986 - Strangeways

Strangeways originalmente se llamó China white. Conformada fijamente por el bajista David Stewart, el guitarrista Ian Stewart y el baterista Jim Drummond.

Kevin Elson produjo su disco debut, y estuvo bajo el sello canadiense Bonaire.

El vocalista del disco fue Tony Liddell, y contó con la participación en los coros de Alan Carvell, Tony Rivers, y del teclista Alan Thomson.

Strangeways: 1987 - Native sons

Luego de su disco debut, Lideell fue reemplazado por el ex miembro de Steve Morse band, Terry Brock, que también había participado en los coros con bandas como Kansas, Jhonny Van Zant y Le roux. Por otra parte, Liddell había estado junto al guitarrista de Tygers of pan tang, Rob Weir, en el proyecto titulado Sergeant.

La banda se mudó del sello Bonaire hacia Rca, y publicó Native sons.

Durante 1987, Strangeways apoyó la presentación de Europe en Bretaña.

Strangeways: 1989 - Walk in the fire

Para 1989, bajo el mismo sello, publican Walk in the fire, con la participación de David Munch Moore en los teclados.

Éste disco es mi preferido en la discografía, ya que no cuenta con puntos débiles. A mi parecer, no sólo es un disco; es una joya. Lo mejor que he escuchado de AOR.

Luego del disco, Terry Brock se retiró de la banda y estuvo muy cerca de ser el vocalista de Deep purple.

El lugar de Brock lo tomó el guitarrista de la banda, Ian Stewart.

Strangeways: 2000 - Gravitational pull

Para este disco, se contó nuevamente con la participación del teclista Dave Munch Moore, y con la ayuda en las baterías de Mike Pickering y John Perry.

Por su parte, Brock estuvo en la banda The sign, y publicó el disco Signs of life. También publicó su trabajo solista, titulado Back to eden.

En el 2001, el vocalista original de la banda, Tony Liddell, se unió a su colega de Sergeant, Robb Weir para reformar Tygers of pan tang. Liddell también junto a Billy Rush de Southside Johnny & The Asbury dukes y Pat Thrall de Asia, Meatloaf, Pat Travers y Hughes/Thrall, en el simplemente llamado Liddel, Rush, Thrall.
