Heavy bones estaba compuesto por el ex-vocalista de Cats in boots, Joel Ellis, el guitarrista Gary Hoey, el bajista de Allegiance y Hellion, Rex Tennyson y el baterista de Quiet riot, Frankie Banali.
Heavy bones grabó un disco, para el sello Reprise, el cual fue producido por Richie Zito. El vocalista de What if?, entregó su voz para los coros, mientras que el guitarrista de Extreme, Nuno Bettencourt, contribuyó escribiendo temas.
La vida de la banda fue corta: Hoey siguió una carrera solista y Banali volvió a Quiet riot, entre una serie de otros proyectos.
Éste disco va dedicado al Toño, y a mi casi vecina Magda.
