Shy se une al sello Z para su nuevo disco. La banda integró al baterista de Asia, Bob Richards, para grabar su siguiente disco, titulado Unfinished business.
Tony Mills, por su parte, lanza su debut solista en el año 2002, titulado Cruiser.
Shy, preparaba la vuelta a los escenarios, anunciando la participación del segundo guitarrista, Ian Richardson, pero sin teclista.
En julio del 2003, Roy Davies ingresa a Jt's budgie, mientras que el ex-vocalista de Shy, Wardi, estuvo en la banda Iron horse.
